I recently had the huge pleasure of meeting Linda Burhans granddaughter, Sklyar, at my TWBAOnline Brandon meeting. Linda’s effect on Skylar is immediately evident. This little girl is amazingly polite, sweet and industrious. Inspired by her grandmother’s work, she already is a published author! During our meeting while we were having boring grown up talk she decided to be productive and ended up helping our waitress clean and prep at the end of her shift. I know Sklyar will be doing great things soon and was thrilled to have met her!

I don’t often get time to enjoy my past times as much as I would like right now; having a full time job along with 3 part time passions (yeah, can’t call them jobs because I love what I do!) cuts into the free time just a little. So though I may not have the time right now to take off a full day or weekend to unwind and enjoy the magnificence of our world, I try to at least take a few moments a day to enjoy the beauty around me and even in what I find on the internet.

Scuba diving is one of the most relaxing and peaceful activities for me, yet I have never seen anything as incredible as this. I hope you enjoy this clip as well!

Anticipating the Newest Family Member!

I am getting very excited about the arrival of my new niece or nephew…won’t know which until the big day. My sister’s first baby! My sister has been my savior and inspiration. She has also been my biggest supporter and fan. I am therefore thrilled to be welcoming this little life into the world in January. I can’t wait to tell it all the wonderful things about it’s mom that she would never say about herself. I hope to be as influential in it’s life as she has been in mine!

In their groundbreaking business book, Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies, Jim Collins and Jerry Porras introduce BHAGS – Big Hairy Audacious Goals. These are 10-to-30-year goals that change the very nature of a business’s existence and often the nature of entire industries.

People can have big hairy audacious goals too. Just look at Ed Viesturs. Ed decided to climb all 14 of the world’s 8,000 meter (26,000 feet) mountains. It took him 18 years to do it and it changed his life.

Dating Automation?

A Legend is Born!

A couple months ago I recruited a friend of mine to accompany me for the creation of Certainty, the newest TWBAOnline mascot, since I didn’t think I could brave Build A Bear alone. I am thrilled that Commander Blue and TWBAOnline inspired the birth of Luciano Pavoturkey.

Luciano’s is going to bring the world of opera down to earth and enjoyable for everyone.

I was thrilled to be there to witness the birth of the world’s first opera turkey!

It is fun to see people’s creativity come alive! I can’t wait to see the reaction of the opera stars in Italy to Luciano.

I was recently connecting with other returned Peace Corps volunteers online and came across this video of an award wining film about a singer trying to inspire change through music.

I am very grateful to have had the opportunities in my life to experience a way of life and a culture very different than my own. I do not have the gift of music, but am thrilled to harness the power of the internet to hopefully inspire and raise awareness about the world around us.

No Knickers Allowed in Miami!

I was recently down in Miami visiting my sister. We decided to go bowling and ran into this sign greeting us at the door. Too bad my brother-in-law violated several of the codes, as seen posing by the sign.

Not sure what struck me the most, that a bowling alley has a dress code, that someone actually wrote “knickers”, or that brother-in-law violated several items on that list!

Do You Have Certainty?

I had the rare joy of relaxing with my family a couple of weeks ago and my mom gave me a wonderful bit of insight that inspired the name of my new TWBAOnline mascot. My life and dreams have always centered around change; I embrace it, need it and thrive on it, because I love learning and experiencing new things. This is also a key in internet marketing, as it is a field that is continually evolving and quickly. So my mother suggested my new mascot be named Certainty, “because the only thing certain in life is change.”

So mom, thank you for reminding me of that and here is a video for you from the guys of TWBAOnline welcoming Certainty into the group.

Do You Have Certainty?

Getting back to basics

I am as guilty, if not more, of getting extremely busy and caught up with work, my businesses and reaching toward my goals. After an especially difficult week, I was lucky to have my mother and sister come to visit me and force me to take a break. I got to put my toes in the sand and watch the sunset over the water, a sight that I’ve seen on a consistent basis since I was a kid, but still makes me awestruck every time!

So try to remember (schedule into your day if you must) to take time out of your normally crazy, hectic life to find that inner child that delights in the simplicity and magnificence of our world. It has an amazing ability to help calm, relax and gain perspective.
