New Lesson
I got into an accident a couple weeks ago. It was mildly traumatic, but luckily everyone involved was ok. No major injuries except to my car, my beloved Mini Cooper. I was very sad over the loss of my car as it was the one little splurge in my life. Over the years I enjoyed the Mini and am glad for that splurge.
However, I feel that this was a little nudging wake up call from the universe telling me that despite my love for my workaholic life, I was neglecting the things most important in my life; myself and my loved ones. It is a sad epidemic in our culture that we get very wrapped up in working and other things that often cause us stress and we get too worn out to fully enjoy the most important things in life. So I lost my car, but I gained the insight that I have been running myself ragged and neglecting my biggest supporters. So though, I will always be a workaholic, I will just make sure to schedule in time for myself, friends and family.
Bye, bye baby car; you will be missed, but you are a small price to pay for such a good new lesson.
Please take time to do something nice for yourself and someone you love today!

I feel your pain Ms. Auction Diva; I too am mourning the loss of the Mini. I will especially miss the great parking opportunities the Mini created (who can forget Mad Dogs), trying to figure out how to adjust the seat (it never got easier), almost pooping my pants every time you did 80 on a 35 mph off ramp, and of course riding downtown with the wind blowing in my hair trashed to no end shouting ‘I feel like I am 18 again.’ Ahhh, if only that were true. Yes, what fun times the Mini afforded us. And a special thanks to you, Mini, for the hundreds of rides you gave me home when I….needed a little assistance. R.I.P., though you are gone you will not be forgotten!
